We had the most beautiful day and phenomenal photo shoot this week in a few of the tiny towns near the Delta. Spent the drive admiring the quick change in scenery from city to farmland and gushing about California's breathtaking landscapes. Thank you, Bay Area, for always providing the perfect backdrop. Feeling the summer buzz in a major way!!!

It doesn't get much better than seeing MERCY vintage clothing worn out and about by fashionable ladies!!! In February we spotted pictures of two of our most fashionable friends at one of our favorite events. Liz Baca and Traci Conti McCarthy not only wear amazing vintage clothing but they sell it too! Find Traci's goodies on her etsy store under Prism of Threads. Liz Baca sells at various events including Rose Bowl, Alameda Vintage Fair and the event pictured here, A Current Affair. She sells her wares under the apt name, The Goods, cuz dang they're good!!! A Current Affair is a bi-annual event hosted by Joey Grana, designer and owner of Scout LA, and Richard Wainwright of NEW/FOUND. We have had the pleasure of participating in this show many times and are looking forward to continued involvement with this great group of people. Both women are wearing jackets purchased from MERCY!

As mentioned in our previous post we created a look book for the Beyond Trend runway event prior to the show and were lucky enough to work with one of our favorite photographers, Terri Loewenthal (whose photos also grace the walls of our store) again! Here's a little sneak peak at the behind the scenes action that day. All photos were shot in the Creative Growth gallery and studio. If you've never been to Creative Growth it is essential to check it out!!! So inspiring and phenomenally beautiful. As are Terri's blog and website. We can't express how grateful we are to be involved in this project and how thankful we are to Terri and the Creative Growth staff for helping us bring this all in to fruition.

Beyond Trend

Over this past weekend we had the honor of being involved in a hugely successful fundraiser for one of our favorite organizations, Creative Growth. Creative Growth is an art center that "serves adult artists with developmental, mental and physical disabilities, providing a professional studio environment for artistic development, gallery exhibition and representation and a social atmosphere among peers." They have been a part of the Oakland community for going on 40 years and this year experienced a 75 thousand dollar budget cut. To help close this disparity Creative Growth organized this fundraiser featuring a runway show and a live auction as well as delicious drinks and snacks provided by some of Oakland's most delectable restaurants (Pizzaiolo, Chez Panisse and Tartine)! Along with the lovely Anne Hartford of Maribel we were asked to style the runway show, in which both Bay Area locals and Creative Growth artists modeled, and were thrilled to oblige! The event was hugely successful and we would like to express our gratitude to all who participated and to Creative Growth for including us in this beautiful event. We are pleased to announce the arrival of a boat load of new jewels from our dear and talented friend, Hannah Weiss. We have carried her Canopy line of jewelry in the store before, including a collaborative trunk show with Jess Feury's Talisman jewelry, and it has been a hit with all of you!!
