It has been such a pleasure to collaborate with so many incredible people for the first, of hopefully many FASHION SHOW five one ohs! I feel honored to have been able to witness first hand the incredible talents of my cohost, Shawn Burke Makeup (@sburkemakeup), and all of the shops we partnered with- ReLove, Tangerine Queen Vintage and Two Two. Amazing things happen when people see each other, lean into the unknown and embrace community.
So what is Mercy showing on the runway? To synthesize it to its core, it is me as a teenager watching Stop Making Sense. It is seeing the giant suit and wanting to wear it. Style that is confusing to some, inspiring to others is where Mercy lives. Style can enliven parts of self, the way your body responds to silhouette, proportions, color, texture. And then experimenting with silhouette, proportions, color and texture…that’s where the magic happens!

ReLove:
ReLove’s ten-look curation takes its inspiration from the designers and design houses who permanently redefined what clothing can mean — Maison Margiela, Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake, Jean Paul Gaultier, Comme des Garçons, and Junya Watanabe — architects of a radical tradition that insisted garments could be subversive, conceptual, and deeply human all at once.
Into that lineage, we introduce Simone Rocha — a contemporary designer whose work carries that same rigor and intentionality forward. Her presence here is deliberate: a conversation between the canon and what it continues to make possible today.
Each look is built in layers, literally and conceptually. The silhouettes resist easy categorization. The styling does not dress a body so much as it opens a dialogue with one. The soundtrack, drawn from the work of Japanese ambient pioneers Mariah, was chosen with the same intention as the clothes: to create space, and to slow time down just enough to see what is really there.

Each look blends boldly styled vintage with pieces from our very first private label collection, transforming one-of-a-kind fabrics into wearable works of art. Designed in collaboration with Bravo Charlie, each jacket pairs statement-making prints with effortless silhouettes destined to become forever favorites.
This collection is brought to life by members of Tangerine Queen’s Maximalist Social Club, a community of creatives gathered by a shared love of self-expression through style. These aren’t just models. They are women who embody the ethos of Tangerine Queen.
More than a runway show, this collection is an invitation to tone it up. To power clash. To wear what brings you joy. Reach for the outfit that makes you stand a little taller and never be afraid to turn a few heads while doing it.

Bay Area Clothing Designers/Artists: There is an incredibly rich history of Bay Area designers, particularly in the 70's and 80's. (Think Jeanne Marc, Outback, Weston Wear) We have the pleasure to host 3 incredible artists on the runway:
SUSANA england: OAKLAND
One of the original designers at the legendary Bay Area White Duck Workshop, Susana went on to create her own line, SUSANA ENGLAND Designs blending quilting, appliqué, embroidery, and painterly whimsy into clothing that was less about fashion than expression. Her pieces graced the racks of I. Magnin, Macy's Union Square, Henri Bendel, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. Each piece was stitched with color, courage and a sense of freedom---wearable affirmations for those unafraid to stand apart.
STEPHANIE bianco: OAKLAND
"Creative" describes Stephanie best. She began sewing at age 12. Graduated from UCSB in textiles and design and began quilting 40 years ago as well as giving sewing / quilting lessons. Ordinary is not her thing. Through the years, her contemporary applique quilts and garments have won many awards. She is always looking for ideas to make a garment stand out in the crowd.
MELODY sabatasso: Love, Melody: MARIN
While working as a fashion designer out of her Marin boutique in the 1970s, Melody found herself with nothing to wear to a wedding. Melody, who notoriously lived only in blue jeans, took apart a pair of Levi's and turned it into a patchwork dress. It was a hit and eventually her work caught the eye of none other than Lauren Bacall. Since then, Love, Melody has designed pieces for Elvis, Cher, Grace Slick and many others. Her coat, featured on the runway, was designed for Riley Keough for her role in Daisy Jones & the Six.

Show Concept
A fashion show staged as a transit experience.
Runway meets performance art.
Each Character is dressed in a look from a designer based in a
selected city.
Each city is evoked through the ambient sounds of its metro system.
The space shifts with each arrival as Commuters flow through.
The world blurs and time becomes kinetic.
This is not a linear runway. It is a journey.
